Appraisals, in accordance with IRS regulations, can be arranged for individual books or collections that are to be donated to institutions Informal enquiries can only be accomplished by actual examination of the books or manuscripts involved. We do not do appraisals over the phone nor do we appraise items that do not merit a written statement. While we regularly purchase rare and fine books, we will not make a formal appraisal and then offer to buy, as this constitutes a conflict of interest. Reference will be provided upon request.
