New from the Whittington Press Portmeirion text by Robin Llywelyn, images by Leslie Gerry
This stunning new miniature features brilliant color plates of architect Clough William-Ellis's picturesque resort village of Portmeirion in North Wales. The full page illustrations were printed using an A1 Epsom 7880 in 8 colors with archival inks onto Somerset velvet watercolor paper. Llywelyn, the architect's grandson, has written short text passages that draw on his earliest memories of the place that brought the Amalfi coast to North Wales: Battery Square; the campanile; the Gloriette; the ship aground called the Amis Reunis, frozen into perpetual harbor; the colorwashed facades sparkling in the sunshine of a summer afternoon. The edition consists of 200 copies with a cost of $75.00
