James Milford Zornes

Zornes was born in Camargo, Oklahoma in 1909. he studied with F. Toles Chamberlin and Millard Sheets from 1935 to 1938, was a student at Otis Art Institute (1938), with further training at Pomona College (1946-1950). He served on the faculties of Otis (1938-1946), Pomona (1946-1950), and the University of California at Santa Barbara (1948-1949). He was also an official army artist during World War II. In his own words, he is " an abstract realist [in] transparent watercolor and other media."
